Macro Economic Overview in 2020
Pada awal tahun 2020, seluruh dunia merasakan dampak
dari virus COVID-19. Sejumlah negara melakukan
lockdown
sehingga mendorong penurunan perekonomian global.
Banyak negara harus menghadapi risiko utang besar yang
terakumulasi selama 2020. Hal tersebut kembali memicu
tensi geopolitik Amerika Serikat (AS)–Tiongkok.
Pada pertengahan tahun, beberapa negara telah
menunjukkan
keberhasilan
dalam
mengendalikan
penyebaran COVID-19, salah satu adalah Tiongkok sehingga
perekonomiannya mulai memperlihatkan perbaikan. Hal
ini berdampak positif karena kerja sama dan kinerja ekspor
negara-negara produsen dari Asia Tenggara juga mulai
menunjukkan pemulihan. Di sisi lain, pasca Pemilihan
Umum Presiden di AS menyebabkan banyak pelaku industri
mengambil sikap
“wait and see”,
karenamenunggu kebijakan
yang akan datang dan implikasinya terhadap perdagangan
dan arus modal.
At the beginning of 2020, the whole world was impacted by
the COVID-19 virus. Several countries have issued lockdown
which led to a decline in global economic. Many countries
have to face the risk of huge debt which was accumulated
throughout 2020. This has once again triggered geopolitical
tension between the United States of America (USA) – China.
In the mid of the year, several countries had shown their
success to control the spread of COVID-19, China being one
country that started to show an economic improvement.
This resulted in a positive impact since exporting countries in
South East Asia are starting to show a recovery in partnership
and export performance. On the other side, the election
of USA President has caused industrial player took a “wait
and see” attitude, as they waited for new policies and its
implications to the market and capital flows.
